I’m importing transactions and I came to the account in which I have some short sales. This leads to “Negative balance detected” message and links to [How to Fix Data Issues in Capitally - Troubleshooting Guide | Capitally](https://www.mycapitally.com/help/troubleshooting-data-issues#there-is-a-negative-balance-since-x) . Fair enough. That negative balance is correct, that was a short sale, closed one day later. I understood the initial warning message as suggesting I can somehow flag this short sale as manually verified, but I can’t see a way to do so.

It’s not a note you cannot accept right now, and a short sale breaks the FIFO from that point in history (only for this position of course). So for now it’s better to remove these two transactions if possible.

But funny you ask, as literally today I’ve completed phase 1 of a major rewrite, that enables proper negative balances, debt, short selling and what not. There still will be a warning, but you’ll be able to just allow negative balance for an account or position. It’s still at least a few more days to be released though.
