Invalid quantity of existing assets

Is there any bug with the recent version of the app?
Since the morning, I am getting this problem:

Also, the quantity for many of my positions is invalid.

Found this example:
I purchased 10 units (9 and 1), but have the duplicated:

Nothing I’m aware of. Some issues have been fixed, maybe these transactions where previously “suppressed” - eg. after a botched import.

But more importantly - if you have an error on History, then there’s an issue syncing your project - maybe that’s the reason. If you open the history, you should see an error - what it says?

“Some changes in history could not be applied - check the first one.”
and the first one is:
“Update Transaction: Other Income / Expense / Fees (Altria Group)”

maybe these transactions where previously “suppressed” - eg. after a botched import.

What does it mean? Could something be fixed recently, so only now I see those duplicates.

Can you try opening incognito mode and checking your portfolio there?

The view is exactly the same - no difference in the incognito mode

Seems like I need to reimport again ; /

How can I get rid of this:

I reverted like good a few months of changes, but I can still see those errors. Since it is history, I cannot just delete an account. Any hints?

Ok, I am lost ;/
I tried the following:

  1. Export data from existing projects (to fix history issues)
  2. Create a new project with exported data
  3. Delete the IBKR account (as I had those duplicates there)
  4. ReImport from the IBKR - it didn’t work very well.
  • My account was transferred from Hungary to IE this year, this action removed all my positions
  • I removed all transfers from CSV, but still, not all assets were imported correctly (I think I did some manual adjustments in the past)

I don’t want to review all the assets and find out what is wrong again.
Any help is appreciated

Ok, I think I fixed it with reimport and a few manual changes. Need to double-check over the weekend.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I’ve found the error report, and for some reason, the account was created twice. Probably the whole import was duplicated - as you’ve seen the transaction doubles.

It looks like a data synchronization issue, where either you worked on two devices, or undone/redone an import, or there was some strange edge-case - I’m just guessing here.

If you want, we can have a call and I’ll help you clean up the history of your original project so you don’t have to go through the changes. Just let me know and I’ll set it up.

The issues with sync are rather rare, but can be overwhelming. I want to improve the History view as it wasn’t touched since very beginning, so it’s easier to spot and fix them. This will be a part of “stabilization” effort in early 2025.

Thanks. I think I’ve fixed it now. Do you have any advice on how to avoid this synchronisation issue in the future? I may use the app on different devices, but I only import it on my laptop.

Honestly, this is the second time I see this kind of issues, and I had no occasion to investigate them. I and many others use it across devices without problems. I actually use it across more than one for testing.

In case this happens again, let’s have a call and I will try to investigate, and regardless of that, I’ll be improving the ability to self-service.
