How do I record a dividend that is described by the issuer as a return of capital.
Hi Dennis, currently there’s no dedicated support for Return of Capital, so the only way is to record them as a regular dividend.
This of course is not 100% accurate, as it doesn’t reduce your principal and cost-basis and if you’re using taxes it still will be taxed.
We have it on the roadmap though to support it - along with handling of spin-offs and mergers which require similar adjustments.
