Currently, tax withholdings are modeled as an attribute of a transaction. It would be good to additionally support a purse “Tax Withheld” transaction type. Many brokers, like Schwab, will give separate transactions for tax withholding. For example, for a dividend reinvestment with a tax withholding, Schwab will give you 3 transactions: Dividend, Tax Withheld, Buy. It is currently not possible to map that when you create your own template.
Hey Roel, for this purpose you can use the “Other” transaction, which has the Tax Paid field.
In the upcoming update to imports, I’ll also want to address that brokers tend to break down transactions into multiple lines.
