A mutual fund I entered correctly pulled up dividends paid at the end of each year and properly accounted for reinvesting into new shares. However, it doesn’t seem to be capturing additional distributions made at the same time each year, which I also reinvested, which the fund distributed as long and short term cap gains, not as “dividends.” Is there an automatic way here to capture those, or do they just need to be entered manually?
Hey Derek, can you tell me what ISIN number this fund has and an example of the distribution so I can check this with the data provider?
Generally, we display everything we get from the data provider and all distributions are currently treated as dividends.
The most accurate way is to import these past distributions from your broker statement instead of entering them manually (same for transactions) as this way you have less work and data accurate enough to do taxes. The automatic dividends are great for predicting future income and in cases where you don’t have access to broker statement.
I’ve only tried it on one fund so far, so maybe others might work. The one I entered was ISIN US00761L1026. Appreciate the assistance.
Other sources I’ve checked also don’t have this information - only regular dividends. So you will need to enter them manually (or if possible - just import them from a broker statement)
