hi, i am trying to figure out how to create one transaction where i sell ETH for USDT. I have tried “sell”, “transfer” etc but no luck. ETH ballance is updated but USDT value is not updating in “positions”/“assets”. How tried to overcome it is to create two transactions: 1. sell with some fee 2. transfer without any fee. But maybe thers smarter way?
Hey Jarek,
Capitally currently does not track the “other” side of transaction, which is usually cash.
What you did is actually what is needed and will be done automatically once tracking is implemented (it’s on the roadmap).
I myself record Buy/Sell transactions and update the USDT balance after a bout of transactions.
With the new imports experience it’s also possible to create two transactions from a single record, so it’s possible to automate it this way.
Keen to follow this to reconcile transactions in the broker I used previously which held all cash balance in a money market fund called DARXX.
Has massive implications for the ridiculous FIF tax rules we have in New Zealand.
Happy to help - just if you could start a new thread and give some details
