Tax Paid doesn't allow to change currency

Hi,

I noticed today that I can’t specify the Tax Paid in a different currency than the asset transaction. This is instead allowed for the Fee field. Is there a reason it’s instead not allowed for the Tax Paid?

One of the brokers I use allows me to trade in the original asset currency, but forces me to pay the capital gain taxes in my home currency EUR. Note that, in fact, my account is also set in EUR.

Is the current limitation an intentional design?

Hi,

Yes, it’s an intentional design to simplify the structure and this is the first time it shows up, as usually the tax is withheld in the same currency as transaction.

You have two options:

1. Register transaction in EUR (as your account is actually in EUR, so you know how much was taken out of it)

2. Register the tax in a separate transaction (Other) on the same asset.
