As the title says - XTB now allows to sell specific position on a stock/ETF, not just FIFO, will this work with Capitally?
I don’t think that XTB includes this information in their exports, but it’s possible to do lot election manually. Just remember, to check if it’s fine from the tax perspective, as the lot election is used to calculate cost-basis for tax purposes, and at least in Poland FIFO is the only option as far as I know.
Well, they claim they’ve consulted this with “a renowned external consulting company”:

Also there is this individual interpretation, confirming this understanding:

XTB includes all the data in their reports - open price, close price, position id, etc. Unfortunately, it’s in the “closed positions” sheet, not in the “cash operations” sheet, so I guess it’s not ideal. However, it would be great if it would be possible to import these operation correctly. I think a lot of XTB users will use it. I heard this is also possible with Interactive Brokers.
Let me know if some change in XTB reports is needed to make it possible, so I’ll try to reach out to their support.
Hmm, interesting. Could you send a sample file containing both the open & close transactions with a lot selected to support@mycapitally.com? I’d definitely take a look if we can support it.
Same goes for IBKR - it’s possible to add support it, I’d need a sample open/close pair to implement it.
I’ve sent a sample file for XTB. Unfortunately I don’t have one for Interactive Brokers, as I don’t currently use it. I guess someone will send a sample when they need it.
