Assets incorrectly tagged as "Cash"

I have 3 ETFs are listed under Tags “Cash”. (Go to “Tags” tab, click “Cash”, and see these 3 ETFs.

I think it may be because they have some Dividends transactions with Tag “Cash”, but these assets are tagged as “Bonds” and “Equties”.

This causes Capitally to incorrectly report the proportion of my cash holding.

The ISINs of these ETFs in question are:

  • TW00000795B4
  • TW00000719B4
  • TW0000062082
And this doesn’t happen to the other ETFs.

App doesn’t set tags on it’s own.

In general, tags are merged from all levels - so if you have a “Cash” tag on a single transaction, then that lot (or more precisely, Position unit) will have the “Cash” tag as well.

So either you need to use a different tag for dividend transactions, or - probably better - use Asset type “Cash”, or create set of Categories “Cash/…” to check you cash positions.

These dividends transactions have been added automatically by Capitially.

Ok, just to make sure - you’re referring to the “Tags” tab in the Portfolio - yes?

Dividends created by Capitally have no tags by default.

If possible, you can send me the anonymized project to support@mycapitally.com or share some screenshots (with Hide my numbers from the top-right menu enabled), as otherwise it will be hard to come up with something sensible

Hi, thanks for the information. I apologize that I may be wrong. It was me that added these dividends transactions, because Capitally doesn’t. It may be because of the data source you use, it doesn’t provide the dividends information for these ETFs.

Unfortunately the ETF data, especially outside US and EU, may not be as complete as it should be - almost with every data provider.

Does that explain where these tags came from, or do you still need help with this?
